Amanda Alvich is a New York Emmy-winning comedy writer, filmmaker, and video producer based in Brooklyn. With over nine years of experience, she’s developed original and branded content for Paramount, NBCUniversal, BuzzFeed, Hearst, and the Tribeca Film Festival. Her work spans everything from long-form TV to digital short form, always grounded in sharp storytelling, character, and comedy.
She’s the creator and host of Top 5 Comedy, a live monthly show featured in the New York Comedy Festival that blends stand-up with audience interaction and themed chaos. Her short screenplay Tiffany’s Funeral was a runner-up in the Tribeca x DoorDash Film Competition and is currently in development as a short film and pilot. Earlier in her career, Amanda was a finalist in the Coca-Cola Regal Films competition, directing a national spot that screened in theaters across the country.
Amanda holds a Master’s in Directing from the School of Visual Arts and started her career in PR before realizing she was better off writing her own stories than pitching someone else’s. Her work balances humor and emotional honesty, often exploring mental health and identity through a darkly comic lens. She also naps professionally, has two judgmental cats, and believes the best stories are the ones that make you laugh right before they make you feel something.
